Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
What is your return window?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused items in resellable condition.
How do exchanges work?
We handle exchanges as returns followed by a new order to ensure accuracy and faster processing:
1. Email hello@ruggeddogcompany.com to request a return
2. Wait for approval and return instructions
3. Send the item back to us
4. Once received and inspected, we issue a refund to your original payment method
5. Place a new order for the correct item or size

Should I send my return back right away?
Please wait for approval and instructions before shipping anything back. Items sent without approval may be delayed or refused.
What condition do items need to be in?
Returned items must be new, unused, clean, hair-free, odor-free, undamaged, and returned with original packaging, tags, and all components.
Items returned in used or non-resellable condition, or without original packaging or tags, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%. See the Returns & Exchanges Policy for full details.
How are refunds issued?
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
How long do refunds take?
Once a return is received and approved, refunds are typically processed within 2–5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit.
Will I be refunded the price I paid if prices have changed?
Yes. Refunds are always based on the actual price you paid at the time of purchase.
Is shipping refunded on returns or warranty claims?
Warranty-related issues or our mistake: product price and original shipping are typically refunded, or a replacement is provided at no additional cost.
Non-warranty returns: refunds apply to the product price only. Original shipping charges are not refunded.

Rugged Care™ Promise
What is the Rugged Care™ Promise?
Not every product can realistically carry a lifetime warranty — especially toys, enrichment items, consumables, and third-party products. That doesn’t mean you’re left without support.
The Rugged Care™ Promise is our commitment to provide fair, reasonable, case-by-case support when something isn’t right — such as a product arriving defective, failing far sooner than expected, or when you simply need help.
Rugged Care™ is not a lifetime warranty and does not guarantee chew time or indestructibility. It exists to make sure good customers are treated fairly.
How do I request help under the Rugged Care™ Promise?
To request support under Rugged Care™:
- Email hello@ruggeddogcompany.com
- Include your order number and a brief description of the issue
- Our team will review the situation and work with you to determine a fair resolution
In some cases, photos may be requested. Returns are not automatically required and will only be requested if necessary.
Possible outcomes may include replacement, Rugged Replacement pricing, or other reasonable solutions, depending on the situation.
How does Rugged Care™ relate to warranties and returns?
- Rugged Care™ does not replace or override our Returns & Exchanges Policy
- Rugged Care™ does not replace or override the Rugged Lifetime Warranty where applicable.
- If an issue qualifies for warranty coverage, warranty terms apply
- If an issue does not qualify for warranty coverage, support may still be provided under Rugged Care™ at our discretion

Is your gear indestructible?
Our gear is built for active, high-drive dogs, but no gear is indestructible.
The Rugged No-Quit Guarantee covers legitimate product failure during responsible, real-world use — not deliberate destruction or chewing.
Our customers are at the center of everything we do. We always want the opportunity to make things right if something doesn’t work the way it should. We review situations on a case-by-case basis and aim to be fair, reasonable, and helpful whenever possible.
What does the Rugged Lifetime Warranty cover?
Select Rugged Dog Company–manufactured products are covered against material defects, stitching or craftsmanship failure, manufacturing defects, and hardware malfunction during responsible use.

Should I send my return back right away?
Please wait for approval and instructions before shipping anything back. Items sent without approval may be delayed or refused.
Do I need to return my item for a warranty claim?
In many cases, no. Warranty claims are often reviewed using photos and a brief explanation.
When approved:
- A replacement is typically sent at no additional cost
- A return is only required if specifically requested
- Refunds may be offered on a case-by-case basis

Shipping & Delivery
How fast do orders ship?
Most orders ship within 1–2 business days. Standard delivery typically takes 3–5 business days after shipment.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Orders $65 or more ship free within our standard service area.
Which carriers do you use?
We primarily ship with UPS and USPS.
What if my order says delivered but I can’t find it?
Check around your delivery area and with neighbors. If you still can’t locate it after 24 hours, email hello@ruggeddogcompany.com and we’ll help investigate.
Sizing, Fit & Use
How do I measure my dog for a collar?
Measure around the base of your dog’s neck where the collar sits. The measurement should be snug but allow two fingers of space. Compare to the sizing chart on the product page.
How do I measure my dog for a harness?
Measure the chest/girth at the widest part of the ribcage just behind the front legs. Use this as your primary sizing reference.
Can you recommend a harness size based on my dog’s breed?
Breed examples are guidelines only. Measurements are always most accurate.
Small: Beagle, Boston Terrier, Cocker Spaniel, French Bulldog
Medium: Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, English Springer Spaniel, Siberian Husky
Large: Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Boxer, Pit Bull–type dogs
X-Large: Rottweiler, Belgian Malinois, Great Dane, Cane Corso, Mastiff-type breeds

Materials, Chews & Safety
What materials do you use in your gear?
We use heavy-duty woven webbing, reinforced stitching, and all-metal hardware in load-bearing areas. Specific material details are listed on product pages.
Where do your chews come from?
We curate single-ingredient, rawhide-free chews from trusted producers. Country of origin and product-specific details are listed on product pages.
How durable are your toys?
We focus on ultra-durable toys designed for power chewers and destructive dogs. Our toy selection is intentionally small and curated — we prioritize materials, construction, and real-world performance over novelty. Many of the toys we carry are designed to be buy-once toys and are backed by manufacturer lifetime warranties. No toy is indestructible for every dog, but these are among the most durable options available and are chosen specifically for dogs that destroy typical toys quickly.
Should I supervise my dog when using chews or toys?
Yes. We always recommend supervising your dog when consuming our chews or playing with toys.

Do I need an account to place an order?
No. You can check out as a guest.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If you contact us before your order is processed, we’ll do our best to help. Once an order has reached our warehouse, changes or cancellations are no longer possible.
